Travel and hotel information
RADNOR HOTEL RESERVATIONS
Guest service representatives are available 24 hours a day at the Radnor Hotel. Please call toll-free at 1-800-537-3000 or 610-688-5800. Book reservations under block of rooms for NASPH/Villanova. Reservations may be cancelled up to 4 pm the day of arrival. The cost for a single or double at the group rate is $145. Must book before August 25th.
CONFERENCE MEETING PLACE
The conference will meet at Villanova University in the center of campus adjacent from the Connelly Center in the West Lounge of Dougherty Hall. To contact someone on campus before or during the meeting, call Ms. Theresa DiMartino at 610-519-8997 or Ms. Elvie Beach at 610-519-4690 or e-mail walter.brogan@villanova.edu and theresa.dimartino@villanova.edu. Parking is available across Lancaster Avenue (Route 30) from campus in the main parking lot.
VAN SERVICE
Rides from the Radnor Hotel to campus will be provided in the morning and evening of the days of the conference. If transportation to or from campus is needed at other times, taxis are available or a possible ride can be arranged by calling Theresa DiMartino at 610-519-8997 or contacting Walter Brogan at the conference.
TRAVEL
By Plane: Use Philadelphia International Airport.
By Taxi: Limo service is available from the airport to the Radnor Hotel, and to Villanova University. The Tropiano Shuttle Sevice is less expensive than Main Line Limo. Call 800-559-2040 or after passenger has luggage, they must go to the Ground Transportation Desk in the Baggage Claim Area and dial #19. This will connect passenger to Tropiano Dispatcher and he/she will instruct customer on what to do next. Cash cost one way is $18 and round trip is $35. Credit cards accepted for higher fee.
By Train: From the main train station at 30th Street, board the SEPTA's Regional Rail Line, R5 (Paoli Local) train to Villanova Station - directly on campus. This train also stops at St. David’s, which is adjacent to the Radnor Hotel. Or from the airport, ask the attendant at the airport baggage counter to direct you to the airport train station. Purchase a combination ticket to the Villanova Station. All trains (including the SEPTA's Regional Rail Line, R1 (Airport Line) go to the 30th Street Station in Philadelphia. At 30th Street, change trains and board the SEPTA's Regional Rail Line, R5 (Paoli Local) train to Villanova Station - directly on campus or to the Radnor Hotel, two stops beyond Villanova at the St. David’s stop (walk due east on Route 30 (Lancaster avenue about .5 mile to get to hotel). It takes about an hour to reach campus from the airport by train. The cost is about $7 from the airport. The same train also goes to the Radnor Hotel two stops further at St. David’s. It is a mile walk east on Lancaster Avenue (Rt. 30) to reach the hotel from the train stop.
By Automobile: Villanova is on Route 30, 1 mile east of I-476, which connects with the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) on the north and I-95 on the south. From the northeast, take Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 25, I-476 South (Chester) to the Villanova exit (no. 13). From the west and northwest, take Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 24 (Valley Forge), follow Route 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) to I-476 South to the Villanova exit (no.13). From the south, take I-95 North to I-476 North (Plymouth Meeting) to the Villanova exit. At the exit, go east on Route 30 to Villanova University (about 1 mile). Parking will be on the Main Lot, south side of Lancaster Avenue across from the University. DINING
There are many very fine restaurants in the Villanova area and, of course, in downtown Philadelphia. A list of restaurants will be available in your conference package. There will be coffee and bagels available at the conference site on the mornings of the conference and lunch will be available on campus in the campus dining areas.
RECEPTION
A reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres has been arranged for conference participants after the keynote address on Friday at 6:00 PM in Dundale Hall on the Villanova University campus. There will also be a social hour before the banquet on Saturday evening in the philosophy department lounge. Directions to these events will be available in the registration package.
